Akira Tohei 8th Dan, passes away

Akira Tohei, 8th Dan of the Midwest Aikido Center and Midwest Aikido Federation passed away Friday morning July 2nd, 1999, after a long battle with cancer.

Previously, details of the services were not made public in this web publication, as promised -  in respect and accordance to the wishes of his wife. 

Friday, July 9th, in a quiet and private ceremony, the first service was held at the dojo. The second was held in the afternoon, at the Midwest Buddhist Temple, in Chicago.

No details have been released yet, to his successor.

Deepest condolences to his wife, son and his organization.
