Fumio
Toyoda passes away
Fumio Toyoda shihan and founder of Aikido Association of America and
Aikido Association International died of a bacterial infection July
4th, according to a notice posted by Andrew Sato, secretary of Aikido Association of America. Should

Andrew Sato at AAA headquarters.
According
to the Chicago Tribune:
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 7, at the Lakeview Chapel Funeral Home, 1458 W. Belmont Avenue in
Chicago. Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. and
the Service from 6 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the Toyoda family requests "koden"-the Buddhist tradition of bringing a gift to help offset funeral costs or in memory of Toyoda Sensei. These donations may be made to either the Toyoda Family or to Aikido International Foundation and may be mailed c/o Tenshinkan Dojo, 1016 West Belmont Avenue, Chicago, IL 60657.
Fumio Toyoda will be
laid to rest on Monday, July 9th, 2001 at 11:30AM at memorial Park
Cemetary in Skokie, Illinois. The funeral procession will leave the
Lakeview Funeral Home at 10:30AM. The
ceremony is open to the public.
