Katatori
Ikkyo Ura
variation #2
Ura can be characterized
as movement that attacks balance by the redirection of the
attack around the assailant himself.
The attacker grabs for the
victim's left lapel. Note that in this version of ikkyo-ura, the
nage leads the forward attack by moving slightly off center towards
her left. Her weight shifts as she steps with right foot backwards.
This takes the balance from the attacker.

Variation 2

Please be patient. Because of its

Wiithin this movement,
notice that ude furi undo is
being implemented to lead the attack and redirect the attacker's
movement around her for the ura. The use of tenkan - explicitly
important here during the entire technique.
The arm is redirected back
and around the uke - in a dropping downward arc, as the nage moves
towards the assailant. The movement causes his body to be swung
downwards in a spiral direction to the floor. The uke is then in a
pinning position.
