Katatori
Nikkyo Ura
Var. 1, angle 2
Ura can be characterized as movement that attacks balance by the redirection of the attack around the assailant himself.
In this version of Katatori Nikkyo, the attacker grabs the victim's
left lapel. Her right hand moves to strike the attacker's face (breaks his concentration), but drops as she slides back.
She grabs the hand of the attacker - stepping back moving slightly off center towards the
right. The attacker is off-balance. Turning her hips
counter - clockwise towards him, her shoulders follow suit aiding her to pull the his grasp off her shoulder. She uses nikkyo, which is the bending of the uke's wrist (keeps the joint and associated muscles and tendons taut).

Keeping nikkyo, she redirects the attacker's arm to his one-point and performs tenkan
(clockwise) around her attacker, leading his arm with a downwards arc
(through - motion), as her hips drop, weight shifts and she turns into the mat in a
downward spiral-like motion. Her uke's stance has been further unbalanced and he is absorbed into the Aiki movement of the
ura-turning.
She then can bring him down and pin him with two traditional sit-down pins.
