In this technique, yonkyo
represents another variation of leading the attacker, as is the other
such as ikkyo, nikkyo, sankyo, gokkyo, etc. The one difference is that
the nage extends the base of the hand - where his index finger
originates into the inside of uke's arm. Most of the time, this causes
excruciating pain.
With a small portion of
individuals, the yonkyo has no affect. This a good technique to work
on, but not one that I would use in practical situation, because of
this fact.
Note that the lead in is
very similar as in ikkyo, but the end result is that shite uses yonkyo.
