AIKIDO POSTURES AND STANCES
(shizentai gamae)
The Japanese refer to the Aikido postures as shizentai gamae, which is a basic and fundamental
posture. It is characterized by its natural proclivity to the balance of the body, and in
the posture and positioning that it takes.
There are two basic gamae: migi gamae
and hidari gamae, which is right and left postures..
