In this technique, ura is
best noted as redirecting the attack around the attacker.
In traditional Aikido,
ikkyo-ura is handled by attacking the assailant's arm on the down
swing of shomen. You can see the nage uses tenkan footwork and takes
the movement of the arm and uses redirection. The tenkan movement
facilitates further when the nage uses a complete 360 degree turn to
disable the balance of her attacker.
Below, you can see body
and hips are used primarily for this movement, specially when the
attacker is very strong and large.
