Tenkan Exercise
Kokyu Ho Undo, or as it
is also known as tenkan is an essential movement
of nearly every Aikido technique. It prepares and coordinates the body to move with in a
balanced state while in motion with the movement of the attacker.
Kokyu ho undo is a way to deal with a frontal
attack, by going around the aggressor's body. Many instructors have defined kokyu ho undo
as a defense by attacking the agressor's attack and actively moving around the nage's
body.
